Transcontinental Race No11 with Y-MOUNT setup

Transcontinental Race No11 with Y-MOUNT setup

I finished the TCR No11 in 16 days, 20h - 5140km - from Santiago de Compostela in Spain to Constantia in Romania. One and a half days before the finisher party started, Gravel, heat, 40.000 meters of altitude and days fully packed with adventures. And the stretch pocket on top of my 10l Saddlebag race line always fully packed with cookies and Haribos. Much more comfortable than loading up my jersey pockets - I only used them for the trash.

The TCR is the perfect event for testing equipment. Rough gravel parcours, heat, rain, crashes - conditions become soon or later extrem. Equipment that survives the race and doesn't annoy is good equipment. The Y-MOUNT setup did both.

My setup:

  • Y-MOUNT
  • Stabilizer Frame with two 700ml bottles ( in total 4 bottles)
  • Saddlebag 10l race line with stretch pocket
  • Jersey Bag (always having my phone, cards and cash with me and not at the bike)

Due to the stability of the Y-MOUNT system (zero sway) I felt always safe and confortable, even on the rough gravel decents in the Alps and at the Balkans.

After the race is before the race. We're currently developing new products that I'd like to test at the TCR No12. With better aerodynamics, I intend to be significantly faster next year. We'll see...
Yours, Thomas (founder of Y-MOUNT)
